Running economy is comparable to the fuel economy of a car, which tells you how many miles are covered per gallon of gasoline used. R-CON is a wearable sensor that measures your running form and displays the data on your smart watch or fitness device. Instantly know when your form is breaking down and when you are running your strongest. Good running economy allows you to run faster and longer.

Learn more about how improving your running economy can you make you a better runner here.

R-CON is easy to use.  Clip it to your waistband and run. R-CON was designed to be compatible with the devices and applications you use in training today. No additional apps or software required. The number you see on your watch is called “G-Count”.  A high G-Count number means your form is causing you to carry unnecessary weight. A low G-Count number means you are running light and efficient. The lower the G-Count, the lower the impact to your body resulting in less injuries.

The initial R-CON production units will be funded through pre-orders. These orders will be through a Kickstarter fundraising campaign.

Kickstarter helps artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, and other creators find the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality. To date, tens of thousands of creative projects — big and small — have come to life with the support of the Kickstarter community.

Learn more about Kickstarter by checking out their website. (Note: The R-CON Kickstarter site will go live in May 2016).

Because R-CON works with the fitness device you already have, you can store and review the data analytics from R-CON just like anything else you track in Garmin Connect, Strava, Training Peaks, or whatever your favorite application is. There are no additional apps or software required to use R-CON. It was designed to seamlessly integrate into what you use now.

Most smart watches and fitness devices are compatible with R-CON. The full list of compatible devices can found be here. If you don’t already have a fitness device, we recommend this.

Running economy meets the actual economy.

The MSRP of R-CON is $70 USD. We want the price of R-CON to reflect our desire to help runners of all capabilities.

R-CON is a fantastic tool for elite athletes and their coaches who want to monitor and fine-tune their form for peak performance and reduced risk of injury. Every-day runners are finding the real-time feedback they’re getting through R-CON is helping them make huge improvements in their training and racing results. So, while R-CON is certainly being hailed by elites who are trying to shave seconds off their PR’s, recreational runners are seeing greater improvements due to where they’re starting. That’s really exciting for the R-CON team.

R-CON reports one simple number “G-Count” that represents running economy. G-Count is a calculated representation of all running axes (up / down, left / right, and forward / backward). The lower the number, the more economic.

R-CON was designed by engineers who also run. The same engineers who keep airplanes in the air and regulate the flow of intravenous drugs into your veins.

R-CON incorporates the latest breakthroughs in wearable technology, the mathematics of cutting edge robotics, and the reliability and accuracy of safety critical applications.  It was tested on treadmill. On the track. On the trail. And on the road.

R-CON. Make it count.
